Orbital performed 3D laser scans of 3 ship unloading towers and scans of the new pier locations prior to the relocation of the towers. By overlaying the scans, Orbital was able to identify alignment issues and design repairs prior to the installation of the new steel towers. Estimated cost savings was in excess of $300,000 and saving of two weeks on schedule.
