Reactor Automation
Reactor Automation
Multi-discipline engineering project at a Southeast PVP polymer plant to remove existing piping and valves and replace with automated valves, instrumentation, and new pumps and heat exchangers to automate an existing chemical reactor to support new product lines and to improve overall cycle times and to match other reactor trains that were previously automated. The project scope included specification and requisition of new mechanical equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, and filters), design of new instruments and control valves, and the routing and tie-in connections of new process and tempered water piping across the unit through pipe racks with limited available space. While the facility lacked much documentation and drawings on the existing piping, equipment, instrument and electrical systems, Orbital provided multiple field personnel to take thorough measurements and evaluate as-built configurations necessary to update the system hydraulics and reverse engineer equipment sizing to match the equipment in the other automated reactor train.
UAV Inspection
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Inspections combined with Alignment Surveys of Crane Runways Orbital Technical Solutions (OTS) provided Asset Integrity Services with use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and survey equipment. The equipment was used to complete visual...
