OQ Inspection for Transmission Natural Gas Pipeline
Orbital performed the OQ inspections for a multiple year transmission line upgrade in northern Indiana. The scope of the project included three (3) phases of work and the installation of eight (8) miles of new 24” transmission steel pipeline, three (3) new regulator stations including cathodic protection, heaters, and launchers. The work force included fifteen (15) inspectors when work peaked in 2018 including Chief Inspectors, NACE Corrosion/Coating, CWI, and utility inspectors. Orbital inspectors supplied construction management, supervision for pressure testing, welding inspection, cathodic and coating inspection, and coordination between the changing installation contractors through the three (3) years performing inspection for this project.
