34kV/12kV Substation Rebuild
34kV/12kV Substation Rebuild
Orbital provided the engineering services required for an upgrade to an existing substation 34kV substation. The existing substation had two incoming 34kV feeds, one 14 MVA transformers, and one single ended switchgear with three 12kV feeders. To minimize down time, the substation was expanded to allow for the new equipment to be installed while the existing station remained energized.
Scope of Work
- Expand substation yard to facilitate installation of new substation equipment while existing station remains energized.
- Develop site/grading plan including new driveway access
- Design new station grounding
- Design new lighting
- Design new substation layout:
- Two new 34kV motor operated line disconnect switches
- Two new 34kV line potential transformers
- One new 34kV load break bus tie switch
- One new circuit switcher for primary transformer protection
- One new 14MVA transformer
- One single ended switchgear with four 12kV feeders (one spare)
- Design protection and controls and new communications for substation.
- Single Line and Phasing Diagrams
- Primary Changeover Scheme
- Schematic Diagrams
- Wiring Diagrams
- Communications Network Diagrams
Redesign incoming 34kV lines to terminate on new substation equipment.
